Richanne Wood Roope, Associate
Serving many of the firm’s clients—in employment, land dispute, transactional, construction, health services, and business matters—Richanne Wood Roope brings strategic thinking and creativity to each task and interaction at Reynolds Tilbury Woodward LLP. She knows that integrity and excellence at every step of the legal process ensure our clients’ success.
Richanne graduated second in her law school class, with a concentration in Trial and Appellate Advocacy. Representing one of the top ten trial advocacy law schools in the nation, she earned many awards on the mock trial team, including placing second nationally in the 2020 National Civil Trial Competition. Richanne now brings these advocacy skills to bear for RTW’s clients as she helps them navigate all aspects of the civil litigation process.
Before being admitted to the California bar, Richanne worked as an immigration law clerk, successfully obtaining lawful permanent resident status for her clients through U Visa relief and Special Immigrant Juvenile eligibility. She then worked in the Office of Legislative Counsel for the State of California, Legislative Services Branch, helping lawmakers and their staff draft bill language and advising them on the constitutionality of proposed action. Finally, she spent a year in the Office of the Federal Defender for the Eastern District of California representing clients with federal misdemeanor charges.
Richanne began her career as a licensed attorney in her family’s law practice, after eight years as the firm’s legal assistant. This work gave Richanne a thorough understanding of the life of a case—from initiation to discovery, through negotiations to pre-trial motions and hearings, including trial. Her focus on individual client advocacy, innovative solutions, and persuasion to the court both in writing and speech carries through to her work at RTW.
Her experience as a leader and an advocate outside of the law only bolsters Richanne’s ability to understand and meet each client’s specific needs. She has an extensive background serving and advocating for children with autism—supporting families, school districts, Masters-level programs, regional centers, and legislative advocacy groups. Additionally, with her education and training in piano and vocal performance, Richanne has provided the vocal and musical direction for nearly 100 local community and professional musical theatre productions. Richanne loves learning the Spanish language and doing anything outdoors, like a true Pacific Northwest native.
